Method
- Chop the berries and fruit into bite-sized pieces.
- Place the fruit into a baking dish.
- Toss the fruit with 2 tablespoons of flour and 2 tablespoons of caster sugar.
- Cover the baking dish tightly with foil.
- Bake at 180°C for approximately 25 minutes, or until the fruit has softened slightly and the juices begin to run.
- Meanwhile, combine 1 cup of oats, roughly crushed nuts, ½ cup brown sugar and 4 tablespoons of butter to make the crumble topping.
- Remove the foil and spread the crumble mixture evenly over the cooked fruit.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake until the topping has spread and browned.
- Serve warm with ice cream or custard.
Notes
This is a great way to use up older fruit and berries from the fridge. The choice of fruit and nuts can be changed according to what you have available.
