French Onion & Beef Stew

This recipe appealed to me when I saw it in the Woolworths Magazine for several reasons.  Firstly, as cheaper cut of meat, which at the moment with the way groceries are going up in price, can only be good and secondly it is a set and forget meal.
So, with regard to the cooking, please take your time cooking down the onions.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 onion
  • chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • crushed
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 8 pieces bacon
  • lettuce
  • 1 tomato
  • sliced
  • 4 bread rolls
  • oven fries

  • Charcoal Grill
  • Deep Fryer

Method
 

  1. Fry the onion until golden brown.
  2. Add garlic to the pan and fry for another 30 seconds before removing from the heat.
  3. Mix the onions and garlic with the minced beef and divide into burger patties.
  4. Cook the burger patties to your preference, preferably on a barbecue.
  5. Put cheese on top of the burger patties for the last 30 seconds.
  6. Assemble the burger, serve with fries and enjoy!
